I have limited access to internet while out of town visiting family. But I did want to stop in and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays! I have been enjoying quality time with my family and some of my favorite Christmas traditions including…
The concert put on by one of Charlottesville’s favorite local bands, Sons of Bill. Every year they come back from a year of touring to their hometown for a Christmas concert and I see so many of my old high school classmates. This year I went with three of my closest high school friends and got to celebrate my friend Anna’s recent engagement. It was so much fun and totally worth the slight hangover I had to nurse the following day.
My family’s Christmas Eve party. For as long as I can remember we have had a party on the night of the 24th and invited all of our closest family friends and neighbors over. I love it.
Our Christmas morning routine of unloading our stockings, then cooking a big breakfast, and then moving on to exchanging gifts from under the tree. My brother made a big plate of eggs and ham – greatly appreciated by a certain girl in the family who habitually eats breakfast within minutes of waking up and just can’t wait until all the gifts are opened to get a meal in.
A big Christmas dinner with the whole family. This year my sister and nieces were able to come join us on Christmas Day and it’s always great to see them.
I hope everyone else has enjoyed the holidays as much as I have and has had a chance to spend time with family and quality time relaxing. I will leave you with a few photos of Juneau enjoying the contents of her stocking today – consider it my gift to you.
What are your favorite holiday traditions?
