Blog birthdays or blogaversaries or what have you

My blog is slowly but surely trucking toward its 50th post – its blog birthday or blogaversary if you will. I think I am going to stick with blog birthday because my human birthday is coming up in a few weeks and I perhaps somewhat pathetically find the fact that my blog and I could potentially share a birthday to be exciting. It may seem more rational to measure my blog’s age from the date that I began writing it (just over a year as of February I believe) but, given the sporadic nature and, in many cases, all out abandonment that has been the fate of many of my past writing projects, I think that number of posts is more a testament to the blog’s success than time passed.

In honor of the birth of my blog, for my 50th post I am planning to do something I haven’t yet done on Endorphins Junkie – a giveaway! I won’t reveal details yet, but be on the lookout for that 50th post (hint: it comes exactly five posts after this one) because, come on, how often do you get the chance to receive a gift for someone else’s birthday?!

I am happy to say that I am still loving writing this blog. I know that is thanks mostly to everyone who has read, liked, commented, and followed it so far. I am getting eager to find ways to expand my readership but, being a blog virgin, am not entirely sure how to make this happen. For any of you with hundreds of followers and blog friends, how did you get to where you are? How long have you been writing your blog? What are the best steps you have taken to extend your blog’s reach?

I hope everyone else is reveling in the magnificentness that is a four day work week like I am. The impending three day weekend has put me in a pretty stellar mood. Good Friday, indeed.
