Merry Christmas to me! On Wednesday I passed my final exam, finishing my certificate program. I finished out my work week on Thursday and won’t be returning to the office until January 2nd. That is almost two whole weeks of commitment free relaxation. I barely know what to do with myself. It’s amazing how much I had taken for granted the free time that I had at my disposal when I was strictly working full time – without the added stress of classes and studying. Never again!
I’ll spend the next few days with family in Virginia and then head back to Raleigh for a week of cuddling with the dog, Netflix marathons, and getting my life back in order from the past few months of chaos.
Of course I am also excited to get back on track with my workouts. My plan remains the same – to train for a PR-worthy half marathon in March or April and then use that momentum to train for my second marathon in October or November. I’ve already picked out a training plan for the half. I made some minor tweaks to Hal Higdon’s Intermediate Half-Marathon Training Schedule. Check it out below.
